Он получил зарплату за сезон, у него хватило на вступительный и осталась сумма для внесения паевых. Мы вступили в накопительную программу — накапливали 35%, сразу внести для нас было тяжело. Сын внес паевые в 2018 году в декабре. В 2020 году вышел на 35%, встал в очередь. Был уже подобран объект недвижимости, отправлен на согласование — и арестовали счета кооператива. Меньше года стояла в очереди — и в 2019 году приобрела двухкомнатную квартиру с помощью кооператива — 44 кв м. Александра в том же году вышла замуж, родила сына. Сейчас она расплачивается за эту квартиру с кооперативом. Очень боится, что события вокруг кооператива могут поставить под сомнение ее право собственности — но кооператив постепенно восстанавливает свою работу, что внушает Александре уверенность в завтрашнем дне. Квартира перешла в собственность Эдуард Трифонов, также хабаровчанин, — инвалид по слуху, причем у него, как у многих неслышащих, нет официальной работы, пенсия 13−15 тыс. рублей в месяц. У него была квартира в городском поселении Вяземский Вяземского района Хабаровского края. В 2018 году он вступил в кооператив, внеся 35% с продажи квартиры в Вяземском. В 2020 году ему кооперативом была приобретена однокомнатная квартира. Причем он полностью за нее рассчитался с кооперативом — квартира перешла в его собственность. Купить квартиру до блокировки счетов не удалось Елена Захарова из Хабаровска работает уборщицей, пенсию свою по инвалидности со счета не снимала — копила. Она внесла всю эту пенсию, плюс материнский капитал в «Бест Вей». Вступила в кооператив в 2019 году, постепенно накопила на первоначальный взнос. При этом приобрести квартиру не успела — счета заблокировали. Очень надеется, что кооператив в ближайшее время возобновит покупку квартир. Покупка квартиры в центре оказалась отсрочена Хабаровчанка Надежда Кравченко также вступила в кооператив в марте 2019 года, стояла в накопительной программе, внесла материнский капитал. Предполагала купить квартиру побольше — в центре Хабаровска, так как у нее родился сын и она хотела создать условия, чтобы ребенку удобно было ходить в школу в центре. А ребенок — слышащий. Она работающая, получает 31 тыс. рублей в месяц, а платеж по ипотеке оказался 86 тыс. в месяц. Очень ждут, когда появится возможность приобрести квартиру с помощью кооператива. Дом для многодетной семьи Лилия Ахметова из Набережных Челнов, у которой инвалиды в семье, вступила в кооператив в 2017 году и в том же году приобрела однокомнатную квартиру для мамы. «Параллельно в моей семье возникла необходимость покупки недвижимости, - рассказывает она. - У нас была трехкомнатная квартира, но у нас трое детей, причем дочка с инвалидностью: у нее аутизм и ДЦП. Нам надо было расширяться, и мы стали искать варианты для себя. При этом сначала муж вариант с приобретением квартиры с помощью кооператива не рассматривал». Искали вариант покупки дома, подчеркивает Лилия. «Нашли дом в черте города за 10 млн. Получили одобрение на ипотеку — но оформление дома затягивалось. Мы продали квартиру и дачу, чтобы внести первоначальный взнос, но оформление этого только построенного дома со стороны продавцов затянулось, и одобрение ипотеки закончилось. А нового нам не дали — повторно ипотеку банк не оформил! И тогда муж предложил попробовать приобрести этот дом с помощью кооператива, благо средства на первоначальный внос у нас были. Мы внесли 50% от стоимости дома, встали в очередь. И через несколько месяцев представили объект на одобрение кооператива. Был очень жесткий контроль и оценка со стороны кооператива — но мы его прошли, так как дом был новый. Причем это был последний дом, на который дал согласие кооператив: позднее дома из устава кооператива убрали. Дальше потребовалась нотариально оформленная сделка, а не сделка с помощью МФЦ, так как продавцы — двое супругов-пенсионеров. Однако мы все препятствия прошли, и дом был приобретен кооперативом». У мамы, рассказывает Лилия, случился инсульт: «Ее пришлось перевезти к нам в дом, теперь на моем попечении два инвалида. Дочке сделали операцию на спине, и в доме понадобилось реабилитационное оборудование — которое не могло бы вместиться в квартиру. Дочка 18+, и ей понадобилось оформить опеку — но у социальных органов не возникло вопросов к тому, что мы живем в кооперативном доме». Мамину квартиру, рассказывает Лилия, уже оформили в собственность — полностью расплатились с кооперативом. По дому расплатиться еще предстоит. «Покупка дома с помощью кооператива — для нас это был безальтернативный вариант, — рассказывает Лилия. — В кооператив по рассрочке нужно вернуть 5 млн за 10 лет, плюс небольшие членские взносы, большую часть мы уже вернули. А по ипотеке нужно было бы вернуть банку 15 млн!» «Мы очень довольны кооперативом, — подчеркивает Лилия Ахметова. — Я восхищена порядочностью и продуманностью системы работы кооператива. Удобная система платежей — кооператив создавал уникальные возможности для приобретения недвижимости! Верю, что его работа будет восстановлена, закон на нашей стороне. Если бы была возможность, я бы старшему ребенку, который учится в другом городе, также приобрела квартиру с помощью кооператива».

Flight tracking website Flightradar 24 shows AeroMexico Connect flight 1631, an Embraer 190 regional jet, flew less than 200 feet over the moving Delta plane then landed in front of them on runway 5R.

The pilots stopped the takeoff and returned to the terminal. The plane eventually took off on its flight to Atlanta about three hours late.

Delta said it reported the incident to Mexican aviation authorities, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board in the United States.

“Delta will fully cooperate with authorities as the circumstances around this flight are investigated,” the airline said in a statement. “We appreciate the flight crew’s actions to maintain situational awareness and act quickly – part of Delta’s extensive training.”

AeroMexico and the Mexican civil aviation authority did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.

Mexico’s aviation safety rating was downgraded by the FAA in May 2021 for non-compliance with minimum international safety standards. The top level “category one” status was restored in September of 2023 after, “the FAA provided expertise and resources via technical assistance… to resolve the safety issues that led to the downgrade,” the agency said at the time.

Now, after more than a decade of Hindu-nationalist rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is mounting perhaps the most significant challenge yet to the language’s place in India.

“Those who speak English will soon feel ashamed,” Home Minister Amit Shah said last month, igniting a heated debate about national identity and social mobility in the polyglot nation of 1.4 billion.

While Shah did not mention India’s former colonial masters, he declared that “the languages of our country are the jewels of our culture” – and that without them, “we cease to be truly Indian.”

Spoken behind the walls of colonial forts and offices, English in India was at first the language of ledgers and treaties.

But as British rule expanded from the ports of Gujarat to the palaces of Delhi, it became the lingua franca of the colonial elite.

At independence, India faced a dilemma. With hundreds of languages and dialects spoken across its vast landscape, its newly appointed leaders grappled with the question of which one should represent the new nation.

Hindi, the predominant language in the north, was put forward as a candidate for official language.

But strong resistance from non-Hindi-speaking regions – especially in the south – meant English would remain only as a temporary link to unite the country. It’s a legacy that endures to this day – and still rankles some.

“I subscribe to the view that English is the language of the colonial masters,” Pradeep Bahirwani, a retired corporate executive from the southern city of Bengaluru, said, adding: “Our national language should be a language which… has got roots in India.”

The Department of Justice quickly fired the newly named US attorney in New Jersey on Tuesday after federal judges in the state declined to extend Alina Habba’s interim appointment.

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s announcement came after the district court voted to elevate Desiree Leigh Grace, New Jersey’s first assistant US attorney, to replace the Trump ally.

“Nonetheless, politically minded judges refused to allow her to continue in her position, replacing Alina with the First Assistant. Accordingly, the First Assistant United States Attorney in New Jersey has just been removed. This Department of Justice does not tolerate rogue judges — especially when they threaten the President’s core Article II powers,” Bondi posted on X.

The rapid change-up prompted confusion as to who will lead the top federal prosecutor’s office in the state.

It’s unclear if Grace’s removal is enforceable or whether the district court judges will challenge the move. There’s also some confusion of when Habba’s appointment expires.

Grace’s appointment was set to be “effective July 22, 2025, or ‘upon the expiration of 120 days after appointment by the Attorney General’ of the Interim U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, whichever is later,” according to the order signed by Chief Judge Renee Marie Bumb.

President Donald Trump appointed Habba to the position on March 24, but she was sworn in on March 28, with department officials arguing that her term doesn’t conclude until Friday. Interim US attorneys are only allowed to serve for 120 days if they are not confirmed by the US Senate or extended indefinitely by the district court in their jurisdiction.

Habba previously served as a spokesperson for the Trump campaign and as a personal attorney for Trump. She represented Trump during his civil fraud trial in 2023 and 2024. After Trump won reelection, Habba served as counselor to the president before Trump tapped her to serve as US attorney.

Trump formally nominated Habba to serve in the position for a four-year term on July 1. Habba’s nomination is still awaiting a vote from the Senate Judiciary Committee before she would advance to the full Senate for a floor confirmation vote.

The president and his legal team have been exploring options for reappointing nominees rejected by the courts, but it is unclear if Habba would accept a reappointment in this case, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche put out a statement on X on Tuesday, saying: “The district court judges in NJ are trying to force out @USAttyHabba before her term expires at 11:59 p.m. Friday.”

“Their rush reveals what this was always about: a left-wing agenda, not the rule of law. When judges act like activists, they undermine confidence in our justice system. Alina is President Trump’s choice to lead—and no partisan bench can override that.”

He had previously urged the federal judges in New Jersey to appoint Habba indefinitely on an interim basis while she awaits Senate confirmation, saying she has the “full confidence” of leadership at the Justice Department.

Habba is President Trump’s second US attorney nominee to struggle to receive support from the district court or the Senate Judiciary Committee. In May, the Senate Judiciary Committee decided not to confirm Trump’s controversial pick to lead the DC US attorney’s office, Ed Martin.

It is rare to have multiple candidates fail to receive support from the district court or the Senate Judiciary Committee.
